Daily Facial Cleansing
Facial cleansing is a milestone in our daily routine, it must be a fixed gesture in the care of our beauty! Unfortunately, one thinks, wrongly, that cleansing the face is important only for those who wear makeup but nothing is more wrong than this belief! In fact, every day, the skin of our face is continually exposed to external factors that can cause dull color, impurities, dehydration, premature aging … just think of the action of atmospheric agents, the fine particles that are present in the skin.
air and smog of the big cities that help to clog the pores and cause the occurrence of imperfections. To better understand the extent of this phenomenon, try to do a little experiment … at the end of a day when you have been completely without make-up, try to put a cotton ball with a little cleansing milk on your face. You will immediately realize that the swab will appear completely dirty … and to think that up to a moment before that dirt was right on your skin!
It is important to thoroughly cleanse your face both in the morning and in the evening, before going to bed.
IN THE MORNING:
- The detergent
First you have to wash your face. To be used in the morning I recommend the cleaning gel with rinsing because, in addition to releasing the skin from residues of the previous evening and the sebum that normally produces, offers a pleasant feeling of freshness that is a real cure in the morning when you’re still a pò sleepy!
On the market there are so many types of detergent, just direct your choice to those that seem to best meet our needs.
For those who have dry skin it is important to choose detergents that are very moisturizing as, for example, those based on almond or honey extracts able to guarantee a sweet but effective cleansing.
For those who have delicate skin , however, it is preferable to choose detergents without soap that can irritate and dry the skin. Better to direct your choice towards detergents based on iris and chamomile, ideal also for those suffering from couperose.
Even those with oily skin must pay particular attention to the products they use because the use of too aggressive detergents could cause the skin to produce more sebum as a self-defense system. The sebum produced in excess clogs the pores causing the appearance of imperfections as well as giving the much hated ” glossy effect”. The use of mineral zinc and salicylic acid, which have an antibacterial and sebum regulating function, is very common in detergents indicated for oily skin.
Those with mixed skin should look for detergents suitable for normal / mixed skin that often have active ingredients similar to those used for detergents specific for oily skin, but in addition contain aloe and vitamin B5 known for their emollient and moisturizing properties .
- The tonic
Important to follow the cleansing of the face, the application of a tonic that allows you to moisturize the skin and eliminate the impurities and dead cells that can alter the color of the face, is also a good basis for optimizing the action of moisturizing cream. The tonics containing alcohol perform an effective astringent function in case of dilated pores but be careful, these tonics are often aggressive and not suitable not only for those with delicate skin!
- The moisturizer
Many girls do not use the moisturizer because they believe they have a skin type that does not require this treatment. Nothing could be more wrong! The skin always needs hydration even for the oily skin. The difference will concern the choice of cream to be used, in fact for those with oily skin it is advisable to use oil-free gels that have a lighter consistency, are opaque and sebum regulators. We must never forget that the cream is not just a source of hydration but plays an important protective function creating a sort of “barrier” between our face and external agents. The most modern creams, in fact, also contain UVA / UVB filters that protect against damage caused by the sun’s rays.
Some moisturizers, however, may be the first cause of impurity. It is the case of comedogenic creams that obstruct the pores and determine the onset of comedones. Usually the creams that contain paraffin and silicones cause this imperfection but the best way to evaluate their effectiveness is to try it on your skin because consider a cream better than another, it is often a purely subjective factor.
IN THE EVENING:
Basic rule: for those who make up, you must always remove make- up before going to sleep. Even when Saturday nights are getting small, you should never go to bed with makeup on your face! Rather we use a make-up remover wipe to follow a simple rinse to better refresh the skin, without doing a thorough cleansing of the face if you really do not feel like it. It is very important to use for the eyes of specific make-up removers that are free of alcohol and oily consistency to remove even the most persistent traces of makeup, including the waterproof one.The cleansing of the face to be done in the evening is similar to the morning, I personally prefer to replace the detergent gel with a product to be applied with a cotton swab such as milk or detergent water for a less strong treatment. Tonic, moisturizer and then … in bed! Make-up, cleansed, hydrated and much fresher!
